Grace through the eyes of my wife

Grace is the ability of God imparted to you to do the will of God, in any situation God has called you to be. Grace is the supernatural empowerment of God to be anything and everything, He has called you to be.

If you are a father, there is “grace to help in time of need”, to be the man you need to be, in the office God has placed you in.

Who is equal to the task we find ourselves in? Making decisions, with lifelong ramifications, all parents need this grace.

If you are ever involved in any form of ministry, from ushering to Sunday school, you need grace.

If you ever teach a Bible study or witness to someone about your experience, you need grace.

Even more so if your labor is in the Word. You need the enablement of God to do the will of God.

Who is equal to the task before us? - Making decisions – separating the pure from the defiled – dealing with complex issues –many with eternal ramifications.

All ministries needs this Grace

This Grace is not just to be upon the Man, it must flow through the man to his wife and his children.

When god calls a man, He gives that man enough Grace to do the job He has asked him to accomplish.

He also gives the man enough Grace to enable the man’s wife and children to follow.

His grace is a covering for his whole family.

My wife’s view of grace

She has said “You can always tell when a man is out of the will of God, by watching his wife. When a man is out of the will of God, his wife will begin to look haggard and become discontented.”

This is very profound if you will consider it for a moment.

Abrams wife Sarah, left her home, left her familiar surroundings following Abram as he looked for a city whose builder and maker is God.

There were some normal bumps in the road of life; however it seems she was willing to follow.

There was a level of grace and beauty upon her and her child.

Noah’s wife and children are another great example.

Obviously God gave Noah enough grace not only for himself but for his wife and children.

Having never heard the voice of God - Having never seen rain - Having never seen a flood –

they moved with fear and built the ark.

If God calls you, your wife and children will have the grace to follow you.

“For the promise is to you and to your children” - God is concerned about the preachers children

“Remember Lots wife”

Financial and political success “called” Lot to Sodom.

Sadly it was his ambitions that kept him going in a field of labor that vexed him daily.

When a man is outside of the call of God there is no “grace to help”, so there is no grace to cover his wife and children.

A man’s pride can cause his wife and children to be lost.

In every decision men should “remember Lots wife” - if she follows you will there be enough grace in your life to cover her?

Lots failings in leadership are well documented, by the actions of his children and by his wife’s unwillingness to follow him.

If your family follows you, where will they be when you get where you’re going?

There is no grace given to a man who is self called and self sent.

God will not bless anything that He is not the author of.

The man who attempts this will pay a price. The people he is trying to help will pay the price for this.

But the greatest suffers are a man’s wife and children.

What doth it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own family?

“Remember Lots wife?”

Grace from my wife’s point of view.
