Every man dies alone

In the garden, Jesus facing, the death of the cross, prayed,
“if it is possible let this cup pass from me.”

He later chastised his followers because, they could not sense the magnitude of the moment, and help carry any of his sorrow.

While He prayed - they slept.

This picture shows us, one of the harshest facts of life.
When you die, you will die alone.

Death is the one constants in living for God.

For he only uses broken and humbled vessels, so death must continually visit our lives.

In the natural when death visits your frame, the room may be full of friends and family, but you’ll face death alone.

In many of life’s situations, the death of a dream, a relationship, a friendship, a hope, you may be surrounded by many who love, care and feel for you, but you’ll have to face this death alone as
well.

“Can you not watch with me forone hour?”

I have often felt like shouting the same at those I love in my times of suffering. But if God has
allowed a death to enter your life, don’t charge those around you falsely. When you come out of your time of sorrow they will be there to share the joy of the resurrection.

Remember this fact; "when you die you will die alone."

Jesus said;” I will never leave you or forsake you”,

Only God can walk with you, in your time of sorrow,  and He is always enough.

I wrote this in 2004 for the church bulletin ... little did I know the import of these words upon my life.

God has never used anyone who wasnt busy.

Anybody that God has ever used was already busy or God would have never called them

If you want to get something done find a busy person, and it will get done.
The idle never have time to do anything.

When God called :
Moses tending his herds

Gideon was busy thrashing wheat by the wine press

Saul looking for the lost beast

David was busy watching his father’s sheep

Elisha was busy plowing w/12 oxen

Nemiah was busy bearing the kings wine cup

Peter and Andrew were busy casting a net into the sea

James and john were busy mending their nets

Mathew was busy collecting taxes

Saul was busy persecuting the church

Only thing these men had in common was they were busy when God called them.

There is no room in Gods work for lazy people.

Faithful

Moses- “faithful in all my house” Num.12:7

Ballams donkey “Haven’t I carried you faithfully”
• God never used them if first they hadn’t been faithful”

God looking for faithful men
• 1 Cor. 4:2 “required in stewards that a man be found faithful”
• 2 Tim 2:2 “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to Faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
• 1 Cor. 4:17 “for this cause have I sent unto you Timothy, who is my beloved son,
and faithful in the lord
• 1 Tim 1:12 “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me in the ministry;”
o Number 1 requirement is faithfulness
o “he that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much”
o “ his Lord said unto him, well done good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things”

“If you want more or to do more, be faithful with what you’ve gotten”

“What so ever your hands find to do, do with all your heart”

Busy, faithful men and woman are what God is looking for.

2 Corinthians 4:7

2 Corinthians 4:7
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

We must always model that we are flesh, and not excellent, least those that follow worship us and not the creator.

Sadly too many of us are trying to convince those who follow that it is us who are excellent and not God.

We are earth, He is excellent.

The church

The church has always been under attack. So, when people criticize it, or you see its short comings, don’t panic.

That the church has survived the attacks from its enemies and the failings of its own members for two thousand years and is still going strong stands as a remarkable testimony of God’s plan for her.
