I want to be a great person

Great people talk about principles and ideas
Average people talk about things
Small people talk about other people.

So much of our fallen nature is revealed by this little phrase.

Talking about other people, neither requires any change in yourself nor challenges those we are speaking to, to change.

You can talk about others and leave feeling smug, elevated, and superior to those whom you were devouring.

Talking about principles always challenges the speaker and the listeners to a higher plateau of living. When discussing principles you are readily challenging yourself to live by the concepts that you are discussing.

Speaking about others destroys something within your own spirit.

Have you ever talked, discussed, and dissected another person until you feel dirty and defiled?

Destroying others with our words has the same effect of destroying your own soul and confidence.

Galatians 5:14-15
"For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another."

Talking about others is unfair.
We never know all of the facts, or the other side of the story. And even when you do, who's life can stand up to this kind of examination.

Talking about others is one of the symptoms of a culture of death.
Homes can take on a culture of death
Churches can take on a culture of death

Love for others is to be the hallmark of Christian living, the scriptural antonym for this kind of love is "biting and devouring one another".

Change the way you view and talk about others and you will change your own world.
Refuse to live small, live talking about ideas and principals.
