Cheaters never prosper

"Cheaters never prosper."

We heard it a lot growing up, an incessant reminder. Moms, dads, aunts, uncles, grandparents — no grown-up missed an opportunity to hammer it home.

"Cheaters never prosper."

If we had been more critical thinkers as kids we might have wondered, " if this maxim is so self-evident, why do you folks feel so obliged to keep reminding us?"

Now we know.

As the naivete of childhood began to wear off, we noticed that cheaters occasionally prospered. Then we realized they often prospered.

And by the time we reach middle age, we came to appreciate the complete upside-downism of our forebears’ totally misleading axiom.

We quickly learned,

Cheaters always prospered.

"Then "I went into the sancuary of God,

then I understood their end.

Surely thou didst set them in a slippery place:

Thou castedth them down into destruction.

How are they brought down into destruction?

As in a moment.

They are utterly consumed with terrors."

God said;

Cheaters have two constant companions -

"Fear and destruction"

Thank God for the perspective His word brings to our everyday decisions.

Thank God His word has the ability to lift the scales from off our eyes.

What ever we gain by cheating is it really ours?

Dose the applause of the crowd, gotten by false pretense, really belong to us?

"Fear hath torment"

Is there any greater fear than the fear of exposure?

The fear that all of our ill gotten gain could be stripped from us with one truthful revelation?

Fear -

Truth then becomes our enemy.

Fear -

The bigger the lie, the greater the destruction and the more we have to loose.

Fear and destruction

Pride makes us wear shoes we cannot fill.

Pride forces us to continue to wear them -

even while tripping over ourselves to maintain the pretense.

"If it is yours it will come to you...

If it is not you do not want it...

for it will curse you."

Again;

"If it is yours it will come to you...

If it is not you do not want it...

for it will curse you."

Fame - Position - Promotion

If it is yours it will come to you

God will see to it...

"Promotion cometh from the Lord"

If it is not yours, and you get it by deceit -

God will see that this to is exposed.

God will see to it...

God says "Cheaters never prosper."

God always speaks last,

Thanks for reading today.
