Galatians 6:1
"Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted."
"Ye which are spiritual" this scripture clearly states that the mark of spirituality is the ability to restore one who had fallen.
I have known a few men who claimed great spiritual insight. According to them, they talked to God on a closer level than we do. " They are spiritual."... They can discern a mans spirit with no evidence... And decree him to be what ever their mind can conger up.
Years may pass and they are still claiming super spiritual perception, and because of their advanced age they must be believed, and never doubted.
The ability to hang on to some perceived past wrong is not the mark of spirituality. You do not have a inside track with God, "you are carnal and walk as a man".
Gods test of spirituality is a mans ability to reach down and help someone back up. Of course this often will hinder a mans ability to climb the ladder of status and influence.
The next time some "great man", tells you how spiritual he is... Look behind him and see if you can find anyone who was fallen whom he has helped back up. This is the scriptural mark of spiritual greatness.
There are two great men that I have begun to pattern more and more of my life and ministry after. Both are humble, kind, gracious, and have on multiple occasions reached down to help men who had fallen and worked to restore them.
Every once and awhile the Bible is right... Spirituality is not based upon scare tactics, political intrigue, vying for supremacy, or the claim to infallibility.
Meekness, self examination, and an ability to restore those who cannot bless us in return, are the sign of a great man of God.

The proverbial nail on the head! Those who were truly spiritual were the only ones whose hands were trusted for the restoration process. Insecurity and the ministry of restoration don't mix. Thanks for an excellent post my Brother! And help us Jesus!
